Variations from the Scrolls
by Maureen Williams

Once you have created your tubes from the scrolls they can be duplicated, mirrored, flipped and rotated to make any number of possible outlines for openings on an egg. Below are some examples to show you what I mean.

By using the tube in varying sizes different effects can be obtained. The following images show the scrolls at 100%, 75% and 50%. Scroll #03 also shows the tube at 25%.

If you feel the thickness of the smaller scrolls are out of proportion to a larger scroll,
they can be resized by following the instructions in the basic tutorial.

Hints for Use

  • Use a new layer for each scroll so you can position it easily.

  • Use Images, Rotate, Free Rotate by 45 to position scrolls across a corner.

  • Place the first image and position and/or rotate as required, then Duplicate the layer and mirror to position it on the opposite side.

  • Scrolls can be built up with Liquid Lace or Dimensional Paints.

  • Outline the scrolls with fine gold cord and fill with glitter or imitation enamel.

  • Use findings or flowers at scroll junctions for added decoration.

Experiment and have fun!
