SINEDOTS
II
APPLYING
A GRADIENT COLOUR
TO A SINEDOT IMAGE

OK, so
you have a really neat Sinedot II preset someone has sent you or you have
created yourself but you want a different colour. The easiest way to do this is
to click on the colour box and select a different colour. Sure, it does the job
but maybe you want something a bit more adventurous!
Read
on.......
You will need
A Sinedot II preset or tube of your choice.
If you wish to use my gradient & tube
download here:
My Apricot Haze gradient and the
MW-Sinedot white flower tube
Note: As this tube is on a transparent background it is very hard to see (but it
is there!!)
IMPORTANT
HINTS FOR GRADIENT COLOUR CHANGES
-
To
be able to change the colour or add a Super Blade Pro effect to a Sinedot II
image you need to have a transparent background behind your image.
-
Also,
if possible, change to image colour to white. It will be a bit hard to see
but if you get into the habit of starting out with a black (or dark)
background and then creating another layer for your Sinedot image, you will
be able to see it quite well and you can turn off the background as
required.
-
Basically,
as long as the Sinedot image is created with a transparent background, these
instructions will allow you to change the colour. Gradients appear to work
better than a solid colour.
-
On
your Sinedot layer go to Selections, Select All and then Selections, Float.
This will select your Sinedot image. You can now apply your gradient fill or
other plug-in effect.
Experiment
and have fun!
APRICOT
HAZE SINEDOT FLOWER
GRADIENT VARIATION
The
instructions are the same as for My Sinedot II
Flower, but using the MW-Sinedot white flower tube and the following
additions:
On
the flower layer - Select All (Ctrl A)
Then Selections, Float (Ctrl F)
In the Style Palette select Gradient fill and choose Apricot Haze gradient (or
gradient of your choice)
Click on the flower to Flood Fill with the gradient.
Deselect & save.
On the flower centre layer, after you have moved the flower centre into place go
to Selections, Select All and then Selections, Float.
Left click on the gradient fill and choose Invert Gradient (the dark colour
should now be at the top)
Click
on the flower centre and Flood Fill
Deselect
& save.
Now return
to the instructions for My Sinedot II Flower
The
Kaleidoscope settings for this border are as follows:
Vertical
Offset 9
Horizontal Offset 8
Rotation 54
Scale 70
No of Petals 2
No of Orbits 0
Radial Suction 25
For the
Inner Bevel on this border I have used the PSP Groove preset.
I hope
you enjoy playing with gradient variations. If you have any queries using
